So What does the PTSO really DO?

Where does all the money go?

100% of the money collected goes back into the school!

During The 2023-2024 School Year, we spent:

EVENTS: $25,702

Your financial support and volunteer contributions have played a vital role in enabling us to host a variety of events for our students and their families. Events such as the Glow Party, Family Movie Night, Dance Through the Ages, Korean Culture Night, Month of the Military Child celebration, Bingo Night and The End of the Year Bash. Our primary goal in hosting these family events is to create opportunities for students and their families to connect through fun and engaging activities, at no expense to them. We strive to create an inclusive environment where all students and their families can participate, regardless of their financial situation.

The Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) is also responsible for organizing the Spring and Fall book fairs, where all books are purchased upfront by the PTSO. Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to research, plan, and resource books without external assistance. During the fall book fair, we successfully coordinated, through the efforts of our exceptional school librarian, Jennifer Hwang, two virtual author visits. Renowned children’s book authors David Shannon and Troy Cummings interacted with our students, providing drawing tutorials and engaging in book discussions.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS & UPGRADES: $9,656

Last year, thanks to your remarkable generosity and dedication, we proudly introduced ‘Oscar the Osprey’ our school’s very first mascot, who has since blossomed into a cherished symbol, uplifting the spirits of our students, staff, and entire school community in truly extraordinary ways! The PTSO also played a vital role in transforming our school’s appearance through various innovative beautification projects, including the vibrant Purple Up wall mural, the stunning new library mural, and the collaborative masterpiece designed by our visionary Art1 teacher, Mrs. Jill Flummerfelt.

SCHOOL PROGRAMS & ADMIN SUPPORT: $9,716

Last school year, our organization successfully delivered over 2,200 bags of popcorn to students and staff, distributed 151 Birthday Grams, and hosted a birthday lunch for 151 students. We were also able to fulfill 480 Spirit Wear orders, provided 945 free Purple Up shirts to students and staff for Month of the Military Child, and awarded $1,378 in teacher grants.
